Course completion certificates have been available in Didacte for quite some time now, but only as a somewhat hidden feature. The feature is now officially accessible to every Didacte account, which means you can now choose to send your users a unique certificate when they complete certain courses.
How does it work?
When creating or editing a course, you’ll notice a new setting section under the “Certificate” title in the main information tab. Here’s what it looks like:
So now, what happens when you actually check that box? From now on, any student that complete the course successfully will receive an email confirming he completed the course, along with a PDF version of his certificate.
Furthermore, students will always be able to re-download their certificates by going to their “Completed Courses” profile page.
What does it look like?
If you noticed in the previous screenshot, under the checkbox is a small link labeled “What does a certificate look like?”. Clicking on it will open a new window displaying a preview of the certificate for that particular course. Here’s a spoiler, it should look like this:
If you are using Didacte’s course credits feature and added some to the course, the details of the credits awarded for completing the course will appear on the certificate as well:
Last but not least, if you chose to customize your school colors, your primary color will be used to make your certificates a little more distinctive:
Go ahead, try it out and let us know what you think! If you have any special requirements regarding the certificates you would like to hand out to your students, just get in touch and we’ll work something out.
